She is the Co-founder and Executive Catalyst of ideiaLab, a Mozambican enterprise founded in 2010, that focuses on developing startups, accelerating SMEs and promoting entrepreneurship and innovation. ideiaLab acts as a catalyst within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, supports entrepreneurs in developing sustainable and innovative businesses and works to strengthen the business environment. Through tailored consultancies including franchising, training, mentoring, coaching, business idea competitions and events ideiaLab keeps shaping the future of entrepreneurship.
Previously, Sara worked as an economist for the Companhia Moçambicana de Hidrocarbonetos, S.A; as Resources Mobilization Manager at the Red Cross and as a Consultant for Deloitte and Touche.
She is a certified GrowthWheel trainer in tools for decision-making in start-ups and growing companies; Incubator Management (INFODEV) and Innovation Politics (World Bank Institute). Sara also acts as mentor for FAN and IBC.
Sara has a post-graduate qualification in Business Administration from INDEG-CEPPA (Mozambique) and Honours Degree in Economics from ISEG (Lisbon, Portugal).
She started her entrepreneurial journey in 2006 when she started Verd’agua, a swimsuit retail outlet in Maputo. She is also a co-founder of the Lokal2896 guesthouse in Maputo. Sara is the President of the Mozambique Business Angels Association.
